There are three types of funding available for teacher training - your eligibility for funding will depend on your individual circumstances
1. Tax-free bursary or scholarship (see bursary table below)
2. Tuition Fee Loan and Maintenance Loan
3. Additional financial support if you’re a parent or have a disability

The table below shows bursary funding for the academic year 2022/23.

Chemistry, Computing, Maths, and Physics £24,000 £26,000
Design and Technology, Geography and Languages £15,000 -
Biology £10,000 -
Trainees in Chemistry, Computing, Maths and Physics are able to apply for a teacher training scholarship with the appropriate professional body. Scholarships are awarded in place of a bursary and are available to trainees with a 1st, 2:1, Masters or PhD, although in exceptional circumstances they may be offered to trainees with a 2:2 and significant relevant experience. Each of the professional bodies sets its own eligibility criteria - find out more in the Scholarship section of the Get into Teaching website.
