Bursaries


There are three types of funding available for teacher training - depending on your circumstances, you could receive all three
1. Tax-free bursary or scholarship (see bursary table below
2. Tuition Fee Loan and Maintenance Loan
3. Additional financial support if you’re a parent or have a disability

The table below shows bursary funding for 2021/22.  Funding for 2022/23 is yet to be announced.

Chemistry, Computing, Maths, and Physics £24,000 £26,000
Classics £10,000 -
Languages £10,000 -
Biology £7,000 -
Trainees in chemistry, computing, maths and physics are able to apply for a teacher training scholarship with the appropriate professional body. Scholarships are awarded in place of a bursary. Each of the professional bodies sets its own eligibility criteria - find out more in the Scholarship section of the Get into Teaching website.
